One woman took it upon herself to save the dog (Video)
While a woman was taking her dogs for a walk, they sped away. With one misstep, one of the pups fell into the the freezing water below. While most people found themselves too shocked or scared to take action, one woman took it upon herself to save the dog! It’s a nightmare scenario nobody wants to find themselves in — your pet slips out of your grasp. In doing so, they find themselves in harm’s way, and you have no idea how to help. That’s exactly what happened at the Sydney Harbour in Australia.
Not too far from where the dog fell is an area known for its history of danger. Back in 2009, it was the location of a shark attack. You can imagine, then, the extra level of fear surrounding this poor dog‘s fall into the water. While the pup did their best to look for an exit, there was none to be found. Thankfully, though, that one brave woman didn’t hesitate to dive in and help. Watch the rescue mission take place in the video below. “I’m from a swimming family and you could tell she has had swimming training or lifeguard training, by the way she cradled the dog and swam back in with it,” Colin, a nearby witness of the event, shares. “She was out fast and back in fast. She was an exceptional swimmer and she kept an eye out for sharks on the way out to get the dog.”

Once the woman jumped into the water, other witnesses sought out tablecloths at nearby restaurants. That way, the rescuer and pup would have something to dry off with once they were back on land. This is something they were no doubt thankful for! The most thankful person that day, however, had to have been the dog’s owner — she didn’t hesitate to commend the kind rescuer for her brave actions. It goes to show that all it takes is one brave person to change someone’s life for the better! Watch the video, it was an amazing rescue!
