The perfect ‘nanny’! (Video)

This little boy named Elliot has had a furry sidekick since he was born. When Brianna Figueras, Elliot’s mom, brought Elliot home from the hospital, she knew right away that their rescue pit bull Gemma was going to be the best of friends with him. Pit bulls get a bad rap, but Gemma has proven that they can be just as friendly and loving as any other dog.

Gemma has been by Elliot’s side since he was born and continues to be there for him as he grows. She has been there for Elliot when he said his first word and when he took his first steps. She has been almost like a nanny to Elliot. She helped him crawl up the stairs, she protected him from rolling off the couch, and she is such great company. Elliot has done a lot for Gemma as well. He helps give her baths, he sings to her, he cuddles with her and is always getting into mischief with her. The two of them go together like peanut butter and jelly!

Best friends forever!

It’s so great for a child to have the opportunity to grow up with a dog. It teaches them about compassion, loyalty and responsibility from the start. Gemma has been there with Elliot as he’s grown up over the years, and the two of them will only continue to get closer and closer as Elliot gets older. Their bond is definitely one-of-a-kind! This adorable video highlights the wonderful bond between tiny human Elliot and his best friend, Emma. 

Pitbull are often branded as an aggressive and dangerous breed – but this lovely dog was out to prove that wrong.
