Mother dog was unable to move due to pain (Video)

Dog Rescue Shelter of Mladenovac, Serbia, learned of a mother dog with five puppies taking refuge in a crumbling building in the middle of nowhere. Despite being sick, the mama did everything she could to care for her pups and keep them alive. A mother’s love knows no boundaries. She sacrificed so much so that her puppies were cared for. This mama dog has severe mange. The sores from scratching and living outside look so painful. She also has large chunks of irritated skin that caused her fur to fall out.

She lay there, weak and unable to move due to pain and malnutrition. But even though she was likely scared and suffering, she took excellent care of her babies. They can be seen nursing happily without any idea that their mother is sick. The puppies are adorable and perfectly clean. They are even a good weight considering everything. They did contract a minor case of mange from Mama but, regardless, she’s really done an amazing job with them. The dog family had no food or water and were living in the worst of conditions. The mama was calm and seemed to realize help had finally arrived. Once the rescuer is able to evaluate mom and babies, he can bring them to a safe place.

The rescuers did a great job

The rescue team places the puppies altogether in a crate, then carries mom in the other arm. It’s time for them to have a proper roof over the heads. And for Mama to get a good meal! First, once they’re safe, all the dogs get a bath. The best treatment for this type of mange is daily medicated baths. Their skin will also be treated with topical antibiotics. In a week, or so, all the dogs will be much healthier and put up for adoption.  We are so happy they were rescued!
