Sad Goat Separated From Donkey Who Raised Him – Watch When They Finally Reunite Again
Heartwarming reunion (Video)
The story of a rescue goat’s love for his closest friend will melt your heart. For 10 years, a goat named Mr. G and a donkey named Jellybean lived together in neglect on the property of a woman who could barely care for herself, let alone the dozens of dogs she hoarded and three barnyard animals. After the animals were rescued, the Grass Valley, Calif., organization took in Mr. G, but sent Jellybean off to another sanctuary.
But once Mr. G (the goat) arrived at the sanctuary, he refused to leave a small corner of his stall, and even when coaxed he would not eat. Animal Place staffers worried that Mr. G was ill, but after a series of health exams they realized that the lonely goat was depressed. Mr. G was mourning the loss of his best friend. Animal Place knew that they had to do something to console the grief-stricken goat, so they made arrangements to relocate Jellybean. A volunteer offered to make the 14-hour roundtrip journey to bring the donkey to Animal Place and reunite Mr. G with his best friend. The rescue group filmed the big reunion in one irresistibly sweet video.
The lonely goat was depressed
Mr. G lit up immediately at the sight of his buddy, demonstrating a bond so strong it could break the Internet. Animal Place will see to it that the two rescue animals remain permanent residents at the 600-acre sanctuary. “Never doubt the depth of emotions other animals possess,” Animal Place wrote. “Mr. G’s grief was as deep and mysterious as a human’s. His joy at reuniting with Jellybean was as beautiful and inspiring as a human’s.” Watch the video but be sure to have a couple of tissues handy.
