ARRESTED: Man is Being Filmed by The Police Abandoning His Dog on The Road

Cameras installed by the Dallas County Marshall’s Office focusing on the shoulder of the road show a man, now identified as 62-year-old Gorge Spears of Balch Springs, pulling his car to the side of a busy road before leaving the dog. The man in the video, exits the vehicle and walks to the passenger door. As he opens the back door of his black sedan, and tugs on a long rope.
When the dog exits the car, Spears closes the door behind it and re-enters the driver’s seat, pulling away and leaving her on the side of a road, as several cars and trucks race by. The video is heartbreaking to watch. Reluctantly, a black and white dog hops out. The man drops the rope, hops in his car and drives away. The dog stands quizzically for a moment, watching the car leave. The dog-ditching incident was the first to be captured by cameras that had been newly installed in the area, a place known as a dumping ground for dogs, waste and occasionally human bodies.
He got caught on camera
After an investigation by the SPCA of Texas, George Spears admitted he dumped the dog, saying he was trying to help his sister who couldn’t control the mixed-breed pup. Spears has been arrested on animal cruelty charges. In an interview from jail, Spears said that if he had taken the dog to the pound and no one adopted her, she would have been euthanized. He said that by dumping her, he was allowing the dog to continue her life and meet up with other stray dogs. Watch the video, after these images, we hope that he will be heavily punished!
