His sweet gesture was filmed! (Video)

The random act of kindness of a 10-year-old boy didn’t go unnoticed thanks to the surveillance cameras of a pharmacy in Brazil. The boy was walking home from school in Brazil when he saw a white puppy on the middle of the road and decided to help him. So, he placed the puppy in his backpack and took him to a place that he knew would have food and water for the pup. While his actions might seem misleading without the proper context, the boy has already explained what happened. Joao Gabriel Mota thought no one was watching as he helped a little puppy, but he became a hero all over the internet. “I took him to the pharmacy that I pass by every day,” João said. A food bowl and water is left outside of the pharmacy for stray dogs.

“I was upset, because was he was alone and very cute, and seemed to be hungry.” In the video, João is seen taking the puppy out of his bag and and placing the puppy gently by the bowls. The malnourished dog starts desperately drinking, as the boy looks at the entrance of the establishment in case someone comes out. Then, he picks up his bag and says goodbye to the pup, sure he was leaving him in a safer place. Shortly after, workers at the pharmacy noticed the puppy and alerted Josiel Pedro Barbosa, the animal rescuer who maintains the bowls out front. Barbosa took the puppy home, and after the owner of the pharmacy showed him the video of Joao’s actions, he decided to share it on Social Media to prove there are still good people out there. After that, Barbosa soon found a loving home for the little orphaned puppy. And the video of João’s touching rescue soon spread, going viral.

But João didn’t note that. He did, however, notice that the puppy he found had gotten a home. “The other day, I passed by [the pharmacy] and I saw that he had been adopted,” João said. “I was very happy.” The pharmacy rewarded João with a new pair of sneakers for his kindness and Barbosa says that the boy’s action gave him a renewed sense of hope. “It’s good to see that you are not alone, and that we have hope for a better world,” Barbosa said. Joao never mentioned his run-in incident to his parents, and his mother, only found out about her son’s good deed after his teacher congratulated her for having a “famous son.” By the time Mota and her husband saw the video, it was already over the thousand of views. “I asked him, and he didn’t tell me right away, I think he was afraid, afraid he had done something wrong.” said is mother. Joao’s parents expressed their gratitude, as they revealed they do the best they can to educate their kids, and said how proud they are to know that, it looks like they’re doing an excellent job in leading the kids down the right path.
