Giant Fish Emerges From The Depths to Gobble a Shark Up In a Single Bite

Massive fish eats five foot shark in one bite (Video)

The world of the sea is quite mysterious. In this, many types of creatures are hidden in the depths. No one has any information about many yet. These creatures suddenly come out and surprise people. Captain John Brossard sailed out with his crew from Goodland, Florida, and managed to hook a blacknose shark, but they weren’t the only ones eyeing it up. Brossard spotted an Atlantic goliath lurking below their boat, waiting to pounce on the shark. I wasn’t familiar with the Grouper fish before I saw this video, so it’s good to know there’s yet another sea creature out there that could swallow a human whole.

Sadly, the ocean is a cruel mistress, and she didn’t think this particular fisherman was worthy of such an impressive catch. Instead, an enormous grouper fish emerges from the depths to gobble the shark up in a single bite. Brossard estimates the shark was about five foot, while he reckons the grouper weighed 500lbs, so it’s little surprise this shark could still be considered a light lunch. Eventually one leapt out of the water and nabbed the shark in its jaws, plunging with it to the bottom of the ocean and snapping the fishermen’s line. “We were very surprised. Basically it ate the shark, and took down and broke the line.” said Brossard.

Goliath groupers have been protected in the state of Florida since 1990 due to declining populations. They must be immediately returned to the ocean (unharmed) if they are accidentally caught on a fishing line. It’s certainly a privilege to see the natural world in action like this, but the main thing Brossard seems to have taken away from the experience is that sharks aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.
