Rescued And Depressed Pitbull Refused To Move For Days Until A Little Boy Showed Up
Depressed Pitbull refused to move (Video)
An incredibly forlorn and frightened Pitbull was somehow rescued by concerned volunteers in New Zealand who had seen the poor girl trying to fend for herself on the streets. They worried that she would end up hurt – or worse. So they managed to corral her and transport her to Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue where shelter owner Abbie Van Der Plax situated the sad dog in a kennel. They called her Nala and despite having fresh water, delicious dog food and a warm, comfy doggie bed to sleep in instead of garbage for dinner and cold concrete to lie on, Nala refused to budge from the corner of the kennel.
Abbie sat on the floor outside Nala’s kennel for two days trying to show her that she cared, to coax the fawn-colored pooch into trusting her. But nothing worked. Nala trembled from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail, fearful of the strangers around her even though they meant well. She also emitted a low throaty growl as a defense mechanism to ward everyone off. But Abbie refused to give up on this sad little girl. She knew that something bad had likely happened to Nala in the past, but if someone could reach her, break through that shell, they would find a sweet doggie who just wanted to be loved.
One of the purest forms of happiness
So since her efforts were not working, Abbie brought in backup. She summoned her seven-year-old son Zack to the shelter to see if he could tear that wall Nala had built up around herself and was putting on for the adults. The result was seen by almost 5 million people and it’s not difficult to understand why. That’s the kind of hope that you simply can’t manufacture. Watch the video, to see just what happened the very second Zack sat down next to his mom Abbie outside Nala’s kennel.
