Every Morning, She Stands Outside Her House And Calls Her FRIEND, Watch Who Is Coming!

Watch who is coming!

This is like something straight out of a fairy tale! Each morning, she will pop out of the woods and join this woman in the kitchen for breakfast. Dog owners know the routine: you walk outside, call out your dog’s name and wait until it comes bounding back to you. But what if something else comes a’bounding? This adorable deer was brought to Amy Carrickhoff  by a friend, apparently orphaned as a baby. The woods behind Carrickhoff’s home are protected from hunting and offered a suitable location for the faun to be rehabilitated. Amy stands outside her house in Oakridge, North Carolina, calling for a deer she has christened “Little Girl.” The deer comes out of the woods and jumps on Amy like a dog wanting to be petted.

She scampers up the driveway and follows Amy into the house, where she then sucks down a baby bottle of goat’s milk. When the milk is gone, Amy dabs the deer’s mouth with a tissue. While some animal lovers were touched by the obvious bond Amy had with the deer, hunters and wildlife rehabilitators felt she wasn’t doing the doe any favors. They said she was allowing the deer to get too comfortable around humans and could have been hit by a car, been shot by a hunter, or hurt someone. “Little Girl continued coming back for bottles until she moved onto regular deer food,” Amy said. The size she is in the video is as large as she ever got.

She was becoming wild again!

When Amy last saw Little Girl, something just seemed wrong, she remembered. Amy watched as the deer appeared to have a seizure. “She walked off into the woods and we never saw her again,” she said. “We combed those woods … we never found anything.” Looking back, Amy said getting to know the deer was a special experience that she doesn’t regret. Amy is confident that she didn’t overly domesticate the animal. Even when Little Girl was bottle-fed, she lived in the woods and did “deer things.” The deer gave birth to a baby of her own and toward the end, she wouldn’t come when she was called. Watch this very cute video and tell us what do you think of this? Would you like to have a daily visitor like this one?

She and her husband got so attached to Little Girl that they don’t ever want to take care of another animal. “I just watch the videos and she kind of lives on,” she said.

It should be noted, that feeding wild animals is generally discouraged. This type of relationship builds dependence upon humans. Little Girl may not have a healthy fear of humans, some of whom might not be as friendly as the woman in the video. Luckily for those involved, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Little Girl went on to have her own fawn, then mostly kept her distance.
