Look what happened!

Dogs are truly one of the greatest companions given to humanity. They can be loyal, energetic, friendly, and most of all, cuddly! Stevoni Doyle has been fostering dogs for over a decade. She has fostered hundreds of dogs, but what happened few days ago was definitely a first. Doyle decided to foster a pregnant dog named Grayce. When she gave birth to 11 puppies three weeks after coming into her care, the pup did something she’d never seen before! The 2-year-old dog had been previously neglected in her last home and needed a safe environment to have her pups. Doyle took her in while she was still pregnant and has been looking after her ever since Grayce gave birth to 10 boys and one girl at her home.

As Doyle sat in the floor, Grayce began picking up her pups one by one, and setting them on her midwife’s lap. “She laid on me and wanted me to love her too,” Doyle said. “She would crawl on my lap and nurse her puppies if I would let her.” In her experience, Doyle said the new mothers usually are very protective of their litter to the point of not letting her near them despite the dog’s bond with their foster mom. “I think she feels unsure still as a new mom,” said Doyle. “And she needed love and reassurance from someone she loves and trusts.” 

“I’m still overwhelmed with her love.”

Doyle believes that animals need us: “We are their voice and we need to protect them.” However, never before has Doyle experienced being handed in puppies by a dog mum in such a touching way. “I was honored that she choose me to trust with her pups and herself,” Doyle says. “I’m still overwhelmed with her love.” Watch the video, you will be touched by her gesture of love!
