Shelter Dogs Pick Out Their First Christmas Gifts – Their Reactions Are So Precious
They pick out their special presents (Video)
Christmas is all about giving and sharing to thank others for the wonderful time spent together this year. But sadly not everyone has a home for the holidays. Many dogs find themselves spending these special days in shelters, waiting for someone to want them. Thankfully, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa realized that these dogs need a little extra love during the Christmas season, so they set out to give them a party all of their own. The staff together with a bunch of supporters donated an array of gifts to give a little miracle to those who were once abandoned. They surprised the animals with a large, decorated Christmas tree that was loaded with gifts.
They let the dogs pick their own and favorite Christmas gift under the “Tree of Life”. They were able to take the special toy back to their kennels with them. The Tree of Life was loaded up with gifts such as dog squeaky toys, chew toys, bags of food, and even cat litter. The staff took a video of these excited pooches practically attacking the tree, overwhelmed with excitement as they were given the chance to pick out what might be their very first toy. We should admit that just by seeing the joy of these lovely dogs we can certainly feel the Christmas spirit floating in the air!
The chance to pick out what might be their very first toy
In the video, we see that the shelter took the dogs in one at a time to pick out their gifts, giving them a chance to choose what they really wanted without having to battle with the other animals. Some of the dogs were so excited that they were even playing with the toys before they got them away from the tree. Aside from the dogs, the cats were also given a chance to pick out special toys. When the video was uploaded online, the animal shelter was quick to point out that, while the animals were excited to get their new toys, what they really wanted most was a new home. Watch the video to see the excitement of these animals as they pick out their special presents.
