Watch The Cat’s Reaction When He Realizes His Human Touched Another Cat!

This cat smells his enemy! (Video)

You know that visceral reaction you have upon learning that your BFF hung out with the person you hate the most? I mean, how dare they! You two are supposed to be on the same side of all battles, right? It’s like a punch to the gut. And that’s not a feeling exclusive to humans, apparently. When a cat sniffed his owner’s hand and recognized the scent of his nemesis (a local stray cat) he about lost his mind. The very relatable reaction was captured on video.

We know dogs can act jealous, but is your cat the “jealous type”? Cats do get jealous. They get jealous of other pets, other humans, and with other cats. Cats can be quite possessive of their humans. They want all the attention to be focused on them. The cat’s name of this video is Ricky, and when he and Kane lived in an apartment in San Antonio, Texas, Ricky had an “ongoing beef with the local stray,” according to Kane in the video description. Kane also said that Ricky and the stray had even gotten into a fight that left Ricky needing stitches in his foot. Ricky was no longer an outdoor cat following the fight, but the painful memories tied to the stray cat’s scent were enough to send him over the edge after sniffing his owner’s hand.

She has been with other cat!

Luckily, Kane and Ricky have since moved to Houston, and Ricky no longer needs to worry about his human betraying him by petting the stray. Cats have different ways of showing their jealousy, and this cat makes sure that his human knows that he does not approve of her touching another cat! If our cats are merely curious, and there is no reason for them to connect one thing with another, such things quickly fade into the past for them. But if there is some reason it does not, we can head off trouble. Watch the video, her cat gets angry and tries to scratch her.

If we worry about, or have reason to believe, our cats will not react well to the scent of other cats, we should make a point of leaving our shoes or jacket outside of the main house, such as a porch or garage. Speak soothingly to our cat once we have changed into fresh clothes.
