Blind Dog Sees Family Again For The First Time After Surgery – His Reaction is Priceless

His reaction is priceless! (Video)

This is the most excited dog in the world. As he should be: This is Duffy, an Irish Terrier rescue dog. “He’s had a lot of struggles with his health,” owner Benjamin May says. “He developed diabetes and lost his eyesight. With medication we got his diabetes stable and he qualified for eye surgery to give him back his sight.” Duffy the dog lost his eyesight after struggling with diabetes, which meant he could no longer see his beloved humans. Duffy’s owners were beyond devastated. Duffy’s decline seemed to progress rather quickly. Within about 3-5 months he went from a totally normal 8 year old dog to a dog who was completely blind.

“It broke my heart seeing this dog I grew up with, who I see as a very good friend…running into things, not being able to recognize me…just struggling,” said Benjamin. But his dedicated family and skilled veterinarians weren’t ready to give up on the sweet Irish Terrier. Amazingly, the rescue Irish Terrier had surgery to restore his sight … and cameras caught the incredible moment when Duffy saw his family again for the first time after surgery. Delighted terrier Duffy can’t contain his excitement after being re-united with his owners following the successful operation. Duffy’s tail is wagging a mile a minute, and he’s looking around at his human family like he just can’t believe how lucky he is.

He can’t contain his excitement!

“He did so beautifully today,” one of the veterinarians says in the video, over the commotion of Duffy’s happy squeals. “He’s such a good boy.” Overjoyed, he clearly recognises his owners and lavishes each one of them with dollops of doggy affection. The touching video making waves on the web is all about second chances. His owners can be heard excitedly cheering off-camera as they see it’s clear that the surgery to restore Duffy’s sight has been a huge success. And he is rewarded in return with hugs and a tasty biscuit. The pet, who is wearing a protective neck cone to stop his repaired eye from being damaged, had lost his sight after struggling diabetes. Watch the video to discover the joy of Duffy and his family. He can finally see them again after several months frightened by what was happening to him.

“Obviously he’s still diabetic so he still needs to receive an insulin injection twice a day but the surgery to repair his eyes was a total success and he hasn’t developed any problems or complications with his eyesight,”
