This Dog Doesn’t Want to go Back to The Shelter After a Volunteer Took Him on a Walk

He doesn’t want to go back to the shelter! (Video)

Even with so many volunteers trying to give you the love and care that you deserve, being a shelter pup isn’t the easiest life. Keeping a dog’s spirits up when they’ve been in the shelter for a while can be a troublesome task. Even when you try to play with them, it’s as if they can tell that they’re never going to find their own forever home. The volunteer, Michele Kenno, was taking this American bulldog mix out for a ride in order to give him a little something different in his day. He loved every second of it. Once she got back, she decided to spend some time with him in the car, and he promptly climbed into her lap and fell asleep. It is the most adorable and sweetest thing you will ever see.

He fell asleep in the volunteer’s lap and wanted to stay there forever. It’s obvious that this dog has a lot of love to give, and is looking for the perfect human to take him home. Unfortunately Michele Kenno is unable to adopt him. Named Marshmallow, the huge pooch has been at the shelter for a while, and didn’t have a wonderful backstory. This wasn’t the first time Marshmallow had been adopted. He’d been taken home many times and was returned because he just had too much energy. His last return was within a week of his getting adopted, which many of the shelter staff say isn’t enough time for the poor dog to adjust.

He needs unconditional love, stability and time.

Marshmallow just needs a place where he can have a lot of room to run, but more importantly, an owner who is patient and can show him unconditional love. We know that it has to be hard to be a dog that lives a life like that. The other dogs are kept away, the volunteers have to split their time between the animals and it’s a lonely life. This sweet dog needed and wanted so much more from life. Hopefully, this video will help someone else fall in love with the giant loving dog and give him a home that he rightly deserves.

UPDATE:

He’s got two equally wonderful laps all to himself—because he’s been adopted! His new humans are ready and willing to be patient and give this boy time to settle down at home. One look at his helicopter tail and sweet dark eyes and anyone can tell he’s eager to be someone’s best friend.
