Woman Caught Abandoning Her Senior Dog At The Groomer’s After Using Fake Name
Woman caught abandoning her dog (Video)
Prepare yourselves for this one, it’s going to tug at your heartstrings. A woman with red hair and an eyepatch covering her right eye walked in the front door of The Secret Garden Pet Resort in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Trailing behind her was a senior bulldog ready for his grooming appointment. The woman filled out an intake form, she identified herself as Melanie Wichester; for the dog’s name she wrote “William Katz.” When staff took the bulldog to the back for his bath, they could see immediately that he was in pain.
The older dog was covered in pressure sores. Staff found that he was suffering from skin, eye and ear infections possibly from being stuck in a crate. The team did their best to clean him up and make him comfortable, washing the dog with a special medicated shampoo to ease his scratching, and waited for his owner to return. Three hours later the appointment was over — but the woman with the eyepatch was nowhere to be found. By the time the sun came up, the dog was still far from home. “He spent the night in our facility, and in the morning when there were no calls or answers we had to contact animal control and they took it from there,” said Katie Ross, a manager at Secret Garden Pet Resort.
Another person not realising that they don’t deserve their pet pooch
Once the woman left the groomer’s, she never returned – and now police and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) are searching for her. ‘Melanie Wichester’ was a made-up name with police unable to find it on their database. She is believed to be in her mid-40s and is about five-feet-six-inches tall. The dog is still at Secret Garden Pet Resort and will be transferred to Long Island Bulldog Rescue, which provides ‘education, prevention, intervention and adoption services to ensure that all English Bulldogs enjoy long, healthy lives in loving, safe, appropriate homes. Watch the video, the woman can be seen on CCTV walking up to the reception counter before looking around several times.
