Foster Mom Adopts Dog in Desperate Condition – One Year Later He is Unrecognizable

He looks now a completely different dog (Video)

A Great Pyrenees dog, now named Neo, was found wandering the streets of Houston in March 2018; he had a gunshot wound, mange and was extremely anemic. Just over a year later, thanks to a local rescue and his new mom, Neo has transformed in amazing ways proving once again that stray dogs deserve a second chance. TAGG Rescue is a dog rescue group based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. They mostly rescue large breeds, like Great Pyrenees, and help them find forever homes.

“We bring in dogs from all over the state… We vet them and if they are not adopted in state or locally by the time they’re fully vetted then we move them to foster homes until adopted in Colorado.” said Leah Forbes, the president of the rescue. Neo was a perfect candidate for the rescue. Forbes said he was found with a rope around his neck before being transported to a local shelter. He had a gunshot wound, mange all over his body, was extremely anemic and tested positive for heartworms. “It was unfortunate to see him in that state and we knew that he needed a lot of care to heal before anyone come to adopt him.” said Forbes. Luckily, TAGG was able to place Neo in a foster home with Wendy Fox so that he could receive the veterinary care needed to bring him back to health.

He deserved a second chance

It only took a couple of months with Fox for Neo’s true colors to come out. Within six months, he had gained over 40 pounds, gotten rid of his heartworms and looked like a completely different dog. Now a year later, Neo has found his forever home with Fox who quickly grew to love the silly pup too much to let him be adopted by anyone else. He can now explore simple joys like sprinklers and big bodies of water. Watch the video, thanks to the quick actions of TAGG Rescue, Neo was given his second chance at life.

Neo has magically transformed with the help of his new mom and local rescue team. Neo’s story once again proves that every stray dog deserves a second chance in living a comfortable and happy life.
